ATTENTION: EVO X AccessPORT Stage 2+AEM Intake Map Recall

SUMMARY

COBB Tuning recently released new EVO X AccessPORT maps designed for the AEM intake. It has since been discovered that the Stage 2+AEM v1.01 maps for the MR edition EVO X are corrupt and can cause the ECU to become inoperable. The faulty maps have been identified, removed from the COBB Tuning EVO X Map Database and replaced with v1.02 maps that have been tested and are trouble-free.

RECALLED MAPS

Release Date: April 23, 2009
Affected Vehicles: 2008 Mitsubishi EVO X MR
Map Names: Stage2+AEM 91 Octane MRv101, Stage2+AEM 93 Octane MRv101 & Stage2+AEM ACN91 MRv101

REQUIRED ACTION

· Do not load any of the recalled maps listed above onto your ECU.
· Immediately remove all of the recalled maps listed above from your AccessPORT using the AP Manager
· Delete these maps from your computer.
· Download the updated v1.02 maps from the 2008 EVO X Map Database and install them on your AccessPORT.

ISSUE RESOLUTION

Installation of one of the corrupt maps can render your ECU inoperable. ECUs rendered inoperable from loading a corrupt map can be recovered with a reflash and will be repaired free of charge. If you are experiencing difficulty with your ECU as a result of installing a Stage2+AEM MRv101 map, please call our customer service team at 801-713-0035 for further instructions.

COBB Tuning strives to provide our customers with the highest standards of quality and performance. We deeply regret any inconvenience that this corrupt map issue may have caused you. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions or comments regarding this issue. We thank you for your patience and understanding.

That sucks, bad things happen sometimes. I'm glad to see that Cobb figured this out soon, issued this warning, and is making things right.

That's a pretty big mistake... shouldnt' all the maps be tested before they are released?

Sure, but you can't plan for everything! It's not like they made it and never put in on a single MR....

tsbevo,

Thank you for catching that and posting the correct links. These have now been repaired on the EVO X Map Database page.
