Question How to get ECM updates for USA Evos in Europe

Hello guys,
I've just got my Lancer EVO X (2008) USDM, but I live in Italy.

I know that my car needs an ECM update with the last software that improves some driveability issues, like hesitation over 5000 rpm, idle stability and so on.
In particular, I'm talking about the well-known TSB-08-13-011 ENGINE CONTROL MODULE REPROGRAMMING FOR SLIGHT HESITATION ABOVE 5,000 RPM and there's also the TSB-08-13-006REVIII ECM REPROGRAMMING FOR DTC P1320.
The question is: how I can get the last ECM update from here? I want to underline that I work in a big company that produces gas systems (LPG-CNG) for vehicles (I make gas ECU calibration); we produce lot of OEM applications, also for Mitsubishi Italy so we have the Mitsubishi diagnostic tool (MUT-III) and all the updates for the european model.
But I need the CD or the update files for the US models: can you help me?

How can I get that CD (last one is marked as #N09011) with the US updates?

Thank you very much for your attention!
Bye
Stefano

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Contact RussellIM - he might be able to get that. But a Mitsu dealer there should be able to download it and install it.

The other alternative would be to get a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 cable and ECUFlash to flash the ECU to the latest version. You should be able to find the latest ROM file from the OpenECU forum after you register.

Thank you for your kind replies.
As I told you, I have MUT-III but I can't download directly the updates (Mitsubishi provide us update cds every 6 months): do you know the Mitsu specific website where it is possible to download updates (even with registration)? I can ask to a dealer but I think it will be very difficult: in fact, I've already talked directly to Mitsu Italy people (we work with them) but actually they seems not able to provide the US updates...
So I think that the only way is to get the US cd or installation file directly from USA; every help from you on how to get this is very appreciated!

Thank you very much, and sorry for my English...

Stefano

Unless you are having major issues, it's probably not worth your trouble. It really doesn't do all that much.

Some people had some success, and others did not. So I wouldn't really worry about it, unless it is stalling and such. I never got the update, and I had my car 1 year already.

You don't really need it.

Also this is true.
At the moment I have not major issues, the only thing is that in WOT over 4800 rpms the AFR is clearly too rich, in fact you can feel that the power delivery is not so smooth (there are some small jerks) and there's also black smoke at tail pipe during fast tip-in. So for sure an update that leans a little the AFR can improve this, but as you say my situation is not really critical.

I've already subscribed to that site (19$ for 24 hrs) but from there you can only download technical documents, TSB, servica manuals, etc but not the ECU updates to install on MUT-III and flash on ECU.
Thanks in any case!

+1 on this. it still is stifled on the top end with the reflashes. the flash to prevent the p1320 code is the only useful one because it stops the check engine light from coming on randomly with timing chain retard.

if you are in italy with a USDM Evo I suggest bagging the factory updates and get yourself a cobb accessport. that will solve all your problems. or use ecu flash if you know how to tune or trust someone to tune for you.
