Mitsubishi released a new TSB on no-start issue

This is a new, and different recall from the previous Mitsubishi recall on the no-start/hard-start issue on 08/09 lancers. The first recall was a relay-replacement fix.

The new recall is for a reflash of the Lancer's ECM.

Recall #: TSB-08-13-004

"The no-start/hard-start condition is due to an incorrect parameter in the ECM that closes the Electronic Throttle Valve during start-up and doesn't allow the correct amount of air flow."

I personally still need to take my car into the dealership to have both TSB's performed. Looks like Mitsubishi finally has the entire problem solved.

I think my lancer is having this isuse as it does not start every time. I do own a 2010 lancer so I'm not sure if I have the 'fixed' tsb.

does the dealership normally charge to have the ecu reflashed?

no charge if you have warranty....if you are out of warranty, pay the reprogramming fee.
