cobb map boosting too much??

i installed my aem intake this weekend..

loaded up cobb's stage 1 aem ca/az/nv 91 octane map..

drove around for 15 miles.. around 9pm.. 70degree outside.. did two wot 3rd gear logs.. hit peak boost of 23.3 on the ap even tho log shows a bit lower.. according the map notes.. boost target is 22.5 +/- .8 psi.... am i boosting too high causing too much knock?..

car is stock except for the aem

Thats probably the issue
Aem intakes can vary and one map cant compensate for them all

Time for a wideband, or a few dyno pulls to verify AFR

i compared the fuel maps for stage 1 stock acn 91 octane vs stage 1 aem acn 91 octane..

and it seems the fuel maps are the SAME!!! cobb.. shouldn't the fuel delivery compensate for the much high air flow of the AEM??

someone else did a aem map vs stock map comparison and all they found different was the MAF SENSOR calibration!!??

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ab-now-12.html

what about more fuel?? for the aem's boost increase.. i was hitting 22.2 peak on stage 1 stock now im hitting 23.3 peak on stage 1 aem..

Is the "knock retard" column the same as "learned knock retard"? Because, maybe it has learned and adjusted from the night before, and no longer retards any further showing no change.

And what's up with the throttle not opening 100%? At some point, at a certain mod level, this has to be a choke point.

i don't think throttle every reaches 100 i dont think it's measure in % thats why.. but trust me my foot was through the floor

i don't think the ecu learned.. because if it learned... it would have retarded the timing.. as you can see the ignition advance is back to normal on the 3rd log.. unline the 2nd log where the timing was obviously retarded

88% is about as high as the drive by wire signal goes on our cars, so that part should be normal. It's typically the case that if a tune is right on the edge for the type of fuel used that runs made later in the afternoon are more heat soaked compared to driving first thing in the cooler morning hours. A good front mount intercooler would reduce that effect, not sure if you have one.

Thats because the MAF calibration is what makes the car fuel properly
These are NOT evo 8/9 they are more like a subaru now

2 degrees isnt abnormal for a tune to fluctuate
again you are using an off the shelf map that isnt custom tuned to your setup

.5 afr difference in that area can be the difference between knocking and not

get on a dyno and check afr or get a wideband you can log to verify
you can also reset the ecu and try logging again

reset it by pulling the connectors off the ecu for a few sec, then reconnect and go from there
