TBE upgrade improvement to gas mileage

I recently installed my TBE; UR o2housing, downpipe and HP cat, and ETS duals; and have noticed I'm getting 2-3mpg better gas milage. That's 10% or more!

Just thought I'd pass that along. While some prior Evo model owners don't want MORE drone and noise, I have been hating my fuel economy limitations of 20mpg per tank.

The noise is definitely louder, but for those who bespeak their need for stealth, I have to ask how well they've done at any drag strips testing their cars out. My experience was that every other car at the strip made my Evo's engine with stock exhaust too quiet to tell if it was even running. With the TBE, I can feel the engine now with a certain amount of fuel flow rate/load. FEELING the engine is necessary in that environment IMO.

Yea, a tune, exhaust and intake, Those three are great upgrades. They make your car run leaner, better faster etc. Very good for improving gas mileage. Usually a free-flowing exhaust would be wider and a lot less restrictive so you need 'less power' to move the same distance so less gas is consumed.

I was thinking the same thing... I just got the full UR TBE, and I think I've been getting better mileage as well (still not good...but, that's not why I bought it)... Glad to hear others are finding the same!

On the track, I found I got 5mpg!

Driving sedately at 55mph on a country road, 25mpg! No tune.

I'm just glad we didn't all get nailed for a gas guzzler tax. Probably deserved to.
