Petition: Evo X EcuFlash Forum

For those of us who don't want to hear about Cobb AP and ECUtek problems.

Evo 1-9 gets one... how about one for the X?

I like it, except don't know how much attention it'd receive as the 1-9 dissemblers are already up to their neck in development. I vote for it though .

even the 8/9 Ecuflash forum is beginning to have a rather low signal:noise ratio... plus, we already have tephra & mrfred making significant contributions to X ECU tuning, and I would hate to see those threads get lost in a sea of inferior solutions

It's a no brainer. They may need more mods for it though.

I agree we need our own forum, preferbly one that is not heavily moderated.

I don't know... what really started to bog down the 8/9 EcuFlash forum were all these new topics popping up asking questions that had already been answered a million times.

that being said, I'd be all for it if the proposed forum was ruled with an iron fist :P

A petition is not the way to make it happen, demand is.
I am all for it, but the metrics aren't there.

In this forum alone, there are 12 Ecuflash topics on the first page. That's about a third, and page 1 terminates July 31st. Of those 12, about 3 of them are announcements.

The Ecuflash forum terminates a day later, and all 35 topics are Ecuflash.

The short answer is, we're not popular enough yet. This has nothing to do with Ecuflash, but to do with the fact the X is new and Cobb got out of the gate a lot faster, so there are a lot more AP users.

I can't really see the complaint on EcuTeK, as its pretty much gone and there are almost no topics regarding. We could tag the Cobb threads [AP] at the start to minimize confusion, if you all think it would help. The CT9A encompasses 4 years, the CZ4A encompasses 1 year of sales in a crappy economy. We'll get there soon enough, but not yet.

Nah, it would be the same amount of posts, just partitioned differently.

I'm not saying no, guys, but for me to put this before the administration to add a new forum with new permissions, we need adequate content to make it happen. Now get out there and induct people into the fold!

I totally understand your point of view, however I just see it as: why not set up the infrastructure properly from the set-off to have things better organized, instead of splitting up AFTER the volume comes in and having to sort out (or simply lose) all the topics.

Even later in your post you go on to say "Nah, it would be the same amount of posts, just partitioned differently", which seems to concur with my notion of "set it up right from the get-go and forget about it". The only drawback I could possibly see is the licensing constraints of whatever forum software EvoM uses... but I doubt it is licensed on a per-sub-forum basis

thanks for taking the time to listen, I swear if you build it, we will come!
