As long as it has the 5 wire Bosch sensor or better though.
Both the original Dynojet WideBand Commander and the newer WideBand 2 use the Bosch 5-wire LSU 4.2 sensor.

Special pricing for Evolutionm.net members is posted in the vendor classifieds section as well.

Just a suggestion and hope you guys won't take it the wrong way - you won't get very many EVO people using your wideband (especially for tuning) unless EVOSCAN supports it.

Does the Wideband 2 have serial output (doesn't seem like it, although not sure what the CAN Link extension cable is, or the Data Acquisition / Gauge Combination Harness)? If not, I guess people can still use it the analog wire and hook it up to the ECU's ADC O2 input (but that throws a CEL on X's).

Here's the PLX SM-AFR installed on my 9. I'm trying to do the same thing with the X (don't like any of the gauge pods available so far).

My vote is for the AEM or Innovate Setup.

Thanks,

I use to run the vishnu kit, and use the LC-1. Its a good wideband, their gauge XD-1 is great too.

I apologize in advance if this is a dumb newbie question since I am new to the Evo community and tuning, but I have been researching gauge/display options. The primary info that I want to add is boost, AFR, oil temp, and oil pressure. From what I have been able to find, it seems that all of this info is available on OBDII. AFR would be lambda based on the primary O2 sensor. My understanding is that the primary O2 sensor is wideband and fairly accurate, but have not been able to confirm this yet. Because of this, I was looking into some of the display options that can display the OBDII data real time (such as Kiwi Wifi, DashDaq, etc) that also support logging. I have the Cobb AP, but it does not support all OBDII parameters. I'm not planning any extreme mods, but want to be able to monitor things for weekend track/autox days. This seems to be more straightforward than adding sensors/dedicated gauges. I suspect that I am missing something?

You won't be able to get AFR, OIL TEMP and OIL pressure from ODB-2, you might be able to get boost (if there's a PID for it) but it'll get cut at around 22 psi. The front O2 sensor is a narrowband.

PLX sells the the following modules - AFR (SM-AFR), BOOST (SM-Vac/Boost), Oil Pressure Sensor (SM-Oil Pressure), and a Fluid Temperature module (SM-Fluid Temp). One nice thing about the PLX stuff is that you can daisy chain the Sensor Modules and leave them in the engine bay (near the intake), and just run one 3.5mm stereo cable through the firewall.

You will need to hook up the Oil Pressure Sender, Fluid Temp Sensor Sender (probably can T off something to the line going to the the oil cooler), and Tap into your Vacuum lines for a Boost Reference (easiest).

As for the display, you can get individual displays, one for AFR, one for boost, one for oil pressure, one for oil temp, or if you don't want as many gauges in the cabin, take a look at their DM-100 or DM-200 multi gauge - You can combine all the readings into one gauge (line items for Boost, AFR, Oil Temp, and Oil Pressure which they call 4 Parameter). It'll make more sense to get the larger DM-200 though (60 mm), if you are going to cram 4 line items in there).

As for logging - it's kinda hard to combine the output of the sensor modules above without EVOSCAN support (which you'll want to use for load, rpm, and etc). The values can be parsed from the iMFD packets but Hamish will have to specifically support it.

Thanks for the info, funks. I had seen a lot of conflicting info on the parameters available on OBDII and had been trying to find a definitive list of what was sent for the Evo. The dashdaq list included oil temp, oil pressure, O2 lambda, and boost but without any range info. Also conflicting info on the primary OEM O2 sensor, so I thought I should ask the people who would know. I will check out the products you mentioned.

First thing you should try finding out is if the stock Evo X has an OIL temp sensor (I don't believe it has one), or an OIL pressure sensor (pretty sure it just has a dumb one that only turns on the oil pressure light when it drops below a certain pressure). Definitely has a narrowband up front, hence that leaves you with just a BOOST Gauge. The car has a 3 bar MAP sensor which I also believe is exposed via ODB, only problem is that it has the 22 psi limitation on the ODB translation side.

You can get the full resolution of the 3 bar map sensor via its voltage output if you can find a smart guage (one that will let you input your own custom equation (y = mx + b) to convert the voltage to a PSI reading). Actually, if somebody made such a guage - probably sell quite a bit and would be easy to install (no need to run the vacuum line, just T tap into the stock map sensors voltage output line).

For the OIL temp, OIL pressure - an easy way to tap would be the following (M20 x P1.5)
