another thing to keep in mind besides the brand of gas, is go to stations with individual pumps for each octane rating instead of 1 pump for all of them, or you get a gallon on crap gas mixed in there

So, if all gasoline is distributed; more or less, from the same refinery to the major oil companies, how does it differ so much?

Seems like quite a few have success with one brand more than another.
