Agreed, fail-safes which can control boost (or other parameters) would still be needed. However, it would still be a nice option to have a separate, optimized gasoline tune in case you did not want to run meth for a while (like a long road trip).

You have alternate maps for the X?

Don't you still require some kind of failsafe mechanism as the trigger for the map to switch?

I'm new to meth/water injection and map-switching, just trying to understand the fundamentals.

Not yet.. but it will be coming.

yes the HFS6 controller can output a signal when failsafe engages, this is seen by the ECU and swithes to safe maps..

I was testing using the knock sensor input using some logic pieces and a relaywith the ground signal from the HSF6 to trip the map to the low octane maps which worked well. However the reset to high output map takes alot longer than desired and the knock learn takes even longer to reset. It was idea but what I would have called a failure. Although another thing learned about the ECU. i am curious what you have in mind I am waiting for one of the members to send me a dissassembly. I don't see why a pointer couldn't be used to redirect based on simple logic. Using a small loop with a jump. More time is needed.

I am using the AQUAMIST HFS-6 on my EVO X, the AQUAMIST HFS-1 on my BMW E90 335i, and the AQUAMIST HFS-1 on my BMW E82 135i. I swear by AQUAMIST

i should be headed back to the tunner in a week or so to get tunned at 30 psi so we will see what new numbers i put down this was on a dynodynamics
Hey just to know if its a stock block u gona turn up to 30psi or u done a built?

Is E85 available where you're at? If not I think running dual maps would be best if you run either of them. Having a fail safe sounds like a necessity from what I've seen through my research. I just ended up going with E85 but I live down in San Antonio and we have quite a few stations.
