Greddy Informeter Touch boost sensor option question?

Anyone here brought the boost sensor + adapter for the Greddy Informeter Touch? I want to know how accurate the boost sensor is and how much PSI is it rated? Does the LCD itself displays only +-14.5 PSI when in needle/bar/circle display style but digitally can display higher?

Greedy Informeter Touch peak boost limit

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arMriiW1c5g

Installed on my Evo X SST. As you can see it is able to read boost off the can bus connector. The only issue is that it can only read 1.54 bar max through the can bus. My car stock peak boost is 1.6 bar (found out on dyno).

To be able to read beyond the 1.54 limit i need to install the sensor adaptor and external boost sensor. Waiting for the workshop to be free. Right now alot of cars are in.

How are you peaking boost so fast and then dropping immediately. I know for when my car is in gear, it can take 3-5 sec to peak it. Also during idle and in neutral, I can hit the gas to max rev and never see the boost peak.

On the SST i switch to automatic, then while on crusing speed i dump to wide open throttle and it will peak the boost. Then when it changes gear it drops. This is a replay of a recorded session btw.

Informeter touch Sensor adapter installed

How do you check if its accurate or not? How would anyone check. This statement is relative since we can't really check for accuracy.

IMO the stock boost reading should be the same for all evo x since it came in from factory so what ever device you use to read it from the OBD would be fairly accurate.

Compare the boost Reading from external boost sensor with Reading boost from OBD.

Sensor adapter reading is needle. The can bus reading is below it. There is a slight difference in boost reading by 0.05 between using sensor adapter compared with OBD reading.

Its weird though on dyno the workshop told me my peak boost is 1.6 bar but in here as you can see the peak boost is 1.76. Even if the reading is incorrect due to the 0.05 bar diff its still quite high which would be around 1.7 bar. could this be?

Btw after installing the sensor adapter as you can see i can now read pass 1.54 bar limit. The max boost that the external sensor can read is 3.0 bar. excellent !!

Is there significant variance between what the OBDII port says vs the optional sensor on the Informeter?
