Hi to all guru's out there and here's my 1st post and need help !

1) I finally got ECUFLASH v.1.42 latest from open ecu
2) Got my Tactrix Cable OP 2.0 Cable & Evoscan v2.6
3) Innovate LC-1 WB yet to be hooked up.

Plugged in the cables today and launched ecuflash to read my ECU all went well and ecuflash asked me to turn off ignition key.

I turned ign off and restarted the car, i've got an CEL, i managed to read from evoscan and it says ECUID: i also tried to clear it but no help.

Tried the process again then i tried to test write, it says unknown ROM so i guess i probably need a definition file (my rom is attached and it is legal from my own X). I also tried to Clear DTC & end session in ecuflash before exiting the program but it didn't work out for me and on the Task Info it says something like "unknown flashing tool ' ' "

Also tried disconnecting the batt and waited 5 minutes but no help.

I'm running Windows XP SP3. Installed all drivers needed for Ecuflash & Evoscan. Logworks 3 is also installed.

My Evo X is 08 and located in the middle east. I also asked the dealer and they said it is Gulf Specs.

I'm able to drive the car, my guess is that I need a ROM definition for my ECU and put it in ecuflash and try the entire process again. I also saved a copy of the original ROM (attached).

All advices and Help is greatly appreciated !

 

Tried to attach ROM in post but exceeded forum limit of 100kb's. I zipped the file but it is at 324kb's still too big.

just started my car and the CEL is gone but i still need a definition file for my ROM.

 

forgot to mention, when i open my rom image, ecuflash says "unknown rom image"

any help ?

So the only problem is that you got a CEL after a *READ*, and you don't have the correct XMLs for your ROM? No need to panic

I don't think Evoscan or ECUFlash can clear codes on an X yet. The CEL is probably a U042 iirc. Lost communication with the ETACS module, I think. It happens to me every time I use ECU flash. I also own PCMSCAN, and I use it to clear.

 

thx so much blk-majik, a relief for me now at least yeah when i started to download the ROM using ecuflash with ign to on position, everything flashses like a circus and all sorts of warning but then it all went back to normal. I'll try PCMSCAN if it comes again. i took the batt out for couple of mins it was still there but after a while when i restarted my car the CEL was gone by itself.

acamus, ROMID is 53050006, thx for the id. but how do i get the definition files ? i understand that once i get hold of the definition files, i copy it in the metadata in ecuflash ?

Try this. I still get the cel and have not ever been able to test write but have not had the need to.

i was able to get hold of the romid 53050006 def-file mentioned by acamus. pasted it in metadata in ecuflash and now i can see the parameters in ecuflash but not sure if mode23 is enabled. also tried to do some logging using evoscan but looks like i'm not able to log stuff i selected. i'll try to to enable mode23 to see if it works for me in evoscan. at the moment i'm just peeking the data in my ecu for now.

still waiting for replies from guru's out there and hope to get the proper def-file for my ecu (still wondering which spec my ride belongs to) then i'll start all over again from scratch by downloading from my ecu and see how it goes from there and also hope to find out which ECU i should select from evoscan to log data. at the moment i selected EVO X instead of usdm evo x mode23.

hope someone out there can help me out to solve this issue.
