2010 Lancer Evolution GSR
I want to install a Hallman boost controller on my friends EVO X, and would like to get feedback from anybody that has installed one.

The car is 100% stock, and I noticed that it spikes 17 to 18 psi and it drops back to 13 - 14 psi

Has anybody here ran the boost controller with no tune and if yes, how much boost???

Do you plan on raising the boost levels, or do you just want to keep it at stock levels until he gets a tune? You will need to tune the car to see the benefits of turning the boost up. Here is a thread that discussed the stock X boost levels. Good luck. Don't just turn it up and guess at things, don't want to trash a brand new car...

I know, im sorry, I have been searching for a few after posting that, the title looked promising but I didnt have time to search through it, I had to run.... damn useless threads make life so much harder on this site.

 

LOL, I read that stupid thread too!

I decided to install the boost controller anyways, and i left it @ stock boost! The good thing is that the boost drop is a lot less with the Hallman ( with the heavy spring in it!)

 

Yeah, its a good, simple, cheap MBC, I went with it in my car. Did you install a boost gauge along with the controller? You should post in there and straighten those fools out, but it is a pretty old thread.

 

We installed a temporary boost gauge, just to monitor the boost levels!
