Hallman boost controller adjustments

I got the Hallman evolution kit installed and Im having problem getting the boost set. I started by turned the knob all the way counterclockwise and the car maxed out at 14psi boost. I have tried turning it clockwise about 20 turns and I still am only around 16psi. Should it take this many turns to get this little boost? I would like to get it around 19psi but I feel like Im turning it too much and Im wondering if there is something wrong with the install. Anybody else have this problem?

Thanks

Do you have the Hallman Pro RX? If so swap out the spring for the heavier duty unit provided in the kit. I had the same problem. I had no problem accidentally hitting 25psi when I first set up the controller.

I have the one with the knob that comes inside the car. I think its the RX. I got it used and didnt get another spring. Do you think I will be able to use the spring I have or do you think I should get the stiffer spring?

I didn't fiddle with the lighter duty spring too much. I ended up cranking it ALL the way in and I think the max I got was 16 or 17 psi. I swapped out the spring and everything was cool once I got it dialed in.

Call Hallman. I sure they'll hook you up with a good spring.

Thanks. I emailed them to see if they can send me the heavier spring. I was wondering if I could just get a spring at the hardware store but I dont know how heavy the one that comes with the kit is.

I have the Evolution MBC and I had it installed with the normal spring. It took me a couple of turns but now I am hitting 20psi...but I do taper after 5500 RPMs...dunno why

i have the hallman as well, and I have had no problems what so ever. I have the spring installed that came with it, and I had it dynoed at 310whp 294ft/lbs. it does take alot of turns to get it dialed in. It is a pretty fine adjustment. Good luck...

So can I get up to 19-20psi with this lighter spring? As long as I can do that I dont mind the fine adjustment.
