Low Boost with Hallman Pro RX

I decided to throw on a Hallman Pro RX that I had laying around until I get a 3 port. I have it installed with no problems / no CELs, but I've got the boost turned all the way up to max and it's only getting up to 20 PSI before starting to taper off. I did accidentally partially unscrew one of the nipples trying to twist the vacuum line on and I just tightened it by hand, the instructions for changing springs mentions that using a wrench could over tighten it and damage the MBC. If that isn't the problem, I guess I will need to throw in the heavier spring, unfortunately I can't find it anywhere.

Can anyone who ran the Hallman Pro RX tell me if they had to switch springs to get stock boost levels as well? Or does it sound like I need to tighten the nipples into the MBC?

Edit: I tightened the nipple and still no improvement. Anyone want to sell me the heavy spring for a dollar?

Yea I had to change mine out. The spring that comes in it is tiny compared to the other spring, probably half the size. Switched it out and I was good to go!

There is no reason to have a mbc in the X.
Will do nothing more then a head ache. The X has finally a great quality boost control set up.
It is worth a money to making it better but the mbc will be actually a downgrade.
Change it back to the ecu controlled boost.

Yep, I got the heavy spring working and set it to 22 psi, but it feels slower without the quick spike around peek torque that the stock boost control has. I'll be putting it back to stock today. Meh, it was worth a try.

Search around about the 3 port solenoid valve that is a worthy upgrade +the waste gate actuator. Then you should be set for anything. Of course over 25 psi boost its a good idea to get a recirc bov too.

Wow! Thanks to your thread, I just discovered an Epic Fail on my part. The same thing happened to me when I got tuned last summer. I didn't even know there was a heavy duty spring. I tapered at 19.8 psi. Here I was thinking that my MBC was a POS. Epic fail.

Kind of a bitter/sweet feeling.

11 PSI is what you would get running just off the wastegate pressure, it sounds like you have it hooked up wrong.
