Safe to install FMIC and LICP?

My car is currently tuned for the setup on my car. I have a FMIC and LICP being delivered tomorrow. Is it safe to install these without a retune? I realize it's ideal to re-tune when you change your setup, but it will be another 6-8 weeks before I will be getting the rest of the parts for my build... I will have a re-tune scheduled then. So... simple question, can I install the lower piping and FMIC without negative affects on my engine or performance?

You'll be fine. Only thing that would really effect anything is the LICP.

On the X, the LICP doesn't effect as much, unlike the VIII/IX. On the X, the LICP helps with throttle response, not so much power increases.

I do have a Cobb AP... should I just monitor knock after the install to make sure that there aren't any huge counts during open throttle? Is there anything else I should pay special attention to after the install?

It's questionable whether an fmic helps at all with the stock turbo. A drop-in, exhaust, and a good tune seems to be all that you need. Upgrade the fueling for E85 and do everything else with an uprated turbo.

I don't necessarily expect gains from putting the parts on. That's why I asked if it would hurt performance. Injectors, upgraded turbo, some new plugs, and a 3port BCS are the other upgrades planned for the winter months... those will be installed by CBRD along w/ a tune.

I hear ya...I also installed all of those parts myself over the summer. It's just annoying to go through all that effort and have your buddy with a stock car put down just as much power.
