AMS tune???

When I bought my car 4 weeks ago I swore I wouldn't tune it......well that didn't last long, haha. I only live an hour away from AMS and I have heard wonders about them. I'm going to be heading down there in a week, hope I'll be happy. But anyways, I bought an extended warranty for my car and its still under the factory warranty. I was looking at the AP because I would have the ability to return it to stock in case of warranty work. I am still thinking AMS is a better option because of there location to me. I heard about the software from Tactrix and having the ability to load your own flash. So what I'm asking is, can I go to AMS and have them tune the car and them just give me the tune and stock flash on a CD so I can load it on myself if I ever have to go to dealer. Also how much is a tune from AMS and how much HP can I expect to gain at the wheels? And is the Tactrix a good buy for what I want, also is it a good program for data logging? Sorry for all the questions, I'm a little new in this game.

Thanks in advance
Robert

Tactrix makes the cable.

EcuFlash is the software for reflashing.

EvoScan is the software for logging.

If you buy the cable, you will be able to log, re-flash, and tune yourself. Stock ROMs are available online, you you won't need AMS to give you yours.

Chris Black is a great tuner and you will not be disappointed. Price/power questions are best directed to AMS sales team.

I think I covered everything...

Thanks for all the great info. Are EvoScan and EcuFlash free software? Any online dealers carry the Tactrix cable?

You have to pay for EvoScan, it's like $25. www.tactrix.com is where I bought my cable from. I looked around, and the pricing seems to be the same everywhere. Also they were on back order a couple months. The cable is around $150 I believe
