High IDC at 7k - stock turbo
hi guys, just an update with my posts here, finally i can see my IDC's in EvoScan ! what a relief now as i know what are my injectors are doing.
I spoke to Hamish about this issue and will be fixed on the next release of evoscan (V2.7)
ride is 08 MR EDM using JDM EvoX 08 with mode23 to do logging. If anyone encounters this problem (can't log/read IDC's) the formula is :
[IPW]*31.25*x/1200
Request id is 23808747 (which is RPM)
Goto c:/program files/evoscan/evoscanv2.6/evoscanv2.7beta5 (zipfile) /datasettings/data (copy this file)
*** is is also a good idea to make a BACKUP copy before next step ***
and replace it @ evoscan v2.6/datasettings/data (paste here)
then restart evoscan and it should work. well i could be wrong but it worked for me. sorry for being off topic

Ok guys,
I'm afraid I have some bad news. The new pump is in. Car idles fine and feels "normal" however, my IDC did not really change. I am still over 100%.
Do we think it's injectors? I would imagine it would have to be.

your IDC wont change UNTIL you lean the map out
having a look at your log you are hitting 11:1 between 6000 and 7500rpm.
you still need to log LESS stuff, as your resolution isn't great.
what elevation are you?

11:1 is fine for the top end...
i think you need to get another 3rd or 4th gear log, but only log the very basics:
rpm, load, psi, afr, ipw, timingadv, knocksum
that should give you a much fast rate of logging
IMHO your spool and midrange is too lean already...

Will do some more logging today after work.
I am a little leary of continued WOT pulls with IDC higher than 80%. Should I lower boost to be a little safer? I feel like we are back to square one.
What causes high IDC? My experience (gut) tells me it's usually directly tied to MAF/load readings. So can some of you guys with similar setups (see sig) chime in on your load values and IDC's your seeing?
I also notice that AAFR and MAFR are roughly 1 point apart, that doesn't seem that odd from what I think is normal. Would I not have a larger spread from AAFR and MAFR if I had a fuel delivery issue?
As a side note, when removing the OEM fuel pump I notices that the bottom of the assembly (bottom of basket) had some debris/dirt in it. I would think the OEM filter would filter that. Also if for some reason the debris did make it's way to the injectors I would think I would see some driveability issues and/or a higher disparity between AAFR and MAFR...

I wouldn't be. I've driven my personal Evo at 95-98% IDC for over two years now. 
I am sure countless others have run them even higher.
I usually don't lose fuel control on a Evo until around 105-110% logged in Evoscan, and by lose control, an example would be I have it running at 11.1 AFR and the AFR ramps up VERY quickly almost a full point leaner and nothing I do in the fuel map changes it.

Only cause Im too broke to pick up some rc 1000's...
I just took a look at your log, and it does seem like you're a bit lean in the mid-range (12.x afr at high boost). I'm a naive user, so take this with a grain of salt. But looking at your LTFT (8%), I would think that something is up with your setup to cause the ECU to want to add that much fuel in closed loop in order to maintain stoich. Have you tried changing back to the stock filter just to eliminate that as a potential variable? Then reset ECU and see if your LTFT stays closer to 0. I also assume you've checked for leaks everywhere (both intake and exhaust). Good luck!

I will look again for intake leaks and will do my darndest to seal the small exhaust leaks I do have..
I'm still looking for data points from others with similar mods...please post your load/IDC numbers!!!

Here's another shot in the dark - you mentioned you do have some small exhaust leaks. What if that is throwing off your AFR readings? When you do a third gear pull from say 3500 rpm's, do you see black smoke out the back? What if you're really running richer than your wideband says you are? I guess that still doesn't explain the high IDC's though.
