Be sure to check for boost leaks, especially vacuum hoses that might have popped off. A loose hose can really do a number on the fuel trims. Check the vacuum line from the FPR to intake manifold, etc.

Then you will need to run richer then "norm" fuel mapping on spool and peak torque.

Thanks Bryan Any ideas on why this has suddenly become an issue?

evoxtac - yeah hoses are ok, and also fuel trims are in good shape...

tephra, i think it's getting a little too technical. sometimes it could be only a small issue casuing all this to happen and i'm really sorry to hear that happening to you. i can send you my rom for you to test it out and as you know, you can drop me a mail anytime.

imho, go with 20-21 psi of boost, not too aggressive timings with afr of 11.0 (which i consider very safe to be used @ temps of 30-35C OAT) to start with and see how it all goes then adjust accordingly with small changes.

mind to post or send your latest datalog ?

but this tune has been on there since October, and I hammer it everyday so this tune works...

maybe its just fuel, but the car is running fine in every other dept.. ie cruise/takeoff/etc...

You have a late model X .. you sure you have the older relays ??

Mine is 08 (but JDM) and it comes from the factory with the replacement relays you guys are talking about .. so I'm confused

lol

well i will be getting a fresh tank of gas tomorrow - so I will swap the tune back and retest...

if its good, then I will swap the relay back and re-test.

if the relay is at fault then the headlight swap test isn't accurate... as the highbeams work fine with my fuelpump realy...

tephra, my car saw knock at 2000 rpm's (although < 5 counts) when I got a little too aggressive with the MIVEC. It would knock when I punched the gas all of a sudden, even without going WOT. My current MIVEC is less aggressive than Bryan's by about 2-5 degrees in most places. If nothing else seems to help, it might be worth trying out less intake advance and less exhaust retard just as a test (maybe 5 degrees less for each). Good luck!

Keep it simple, people tend to overlook the obvious when sorting out these issues.
Look at the vacuum line for your FPR, it probably pop'd off.

I had this problem over in NZ to Tephra. I have been running a tune from SiC since last Jan with no problems, then i did a couple of logs the other day after filling up and it knock'd like crazy. i have backed the boost off (27psi --> 22psi) untill i use this tank up.

Hopefully its bad gas
