I would think you would tune around it than just turn it off.
I'm in the camp of turning them off. They serve no purpose other then a "modifying limit". You have other safeguards that the Evo 8/9 have been using with good results for years.

Save yourself some hair-pulling and turn them off.

did you just lose power or did it put you in limp mode? i had similar problem when my boost controller was too high and i was overboosting.

I've had hard limp mode before, this wasn't hard limp mode, just loss power, felt NA with ebrake on, LOL...SES light was already on for P0137 and P0138. The center screen which usually flashes a warning for hard limp mode didn't go on. And the RPM's were idling fine...usually they jump big time in hard limp, from what I have experienced in the past. So I turned the car off and saw the other 2 codes. I guess I will just raise the air limit tables and disable the codes... This is why it's good to always have my laptop with me.

somehow you tripped 1234 without 1235...

normally they all come on together..
1235 is hard limp

maybe 1234 isn't as bad...

tephra, what is the easiest way to clear these codes BTW? I tried with my Dashhawk, then ECUFlash and neither cleared them. Then PCMScan finally cleared 1234 and 0223.

Just an FYI, I've gotten P1235 without any sort of limp mode before. That was the only code that triggered, none of the others mentioned. Raising my airflow limit tables by about 10% in the two right-most columns seems to have fixed that issue for me.

Turned off the DTC and still no power! Turbo doesn't sound to be spoiling. All IC pipes are tight and secure. Ideas?

A log would help a ton, usually when the hard limp mode is still around the TPS is limited to 20-30% and you can barely build any boost. You could reset the battery for 30 sec and see how the car does, just don't pound on it until you adjust the airflow limits or just do the DTC disable. I fought the airflow limits long enough to know that at least on a upgraded turbo it's simply not worth tuning for the trouble they cause. I would get the daily driving perfect then high boost would trigger, then I adjusted for high boost and stationary limiter would trigger it as "not enough airflow" instead of "too much".

For me it was an easy choice!

Like you said on the other forum, you have no dtc showing and still have no power. If your x has no dtc active and still have no power, I would say arm came off wg from the wg actuator, your wg is stuck open some how, wg actuator has failed or reactive sol fcked up.
