High idling RPM problem

hi guys really help with this.

just got Cobb AP recently for my evo x MR and installed stage two map. the car sounds louder than before and when i stop at light, gear in driving position, either i step on brake or use hand brake, it stays at 1500 RPM even though the car is not moving at all. normally it should be below 800. i did a lot of research and many people have the same problem on their MR. i changed it to stage 1, the car is not that loud but still same high idling RPM, then i changed it back to stock and its normal now so i believe something wrong with the maps. im gonna call cobb later today. but i wonder if anyone knows whats going on? thanks a lot!

there was a code but i already reset ecu. i will check it again later and post the code here.

i have hfc,cbe,uicp,fmic,drop in filter.

i called cobb, he said they workin on it and a lot of complaints about that on MR model.some ppl only have issue when A/C on. but for me, no matter A/C is on or not, still like 1500rpm at D,R position when the car is not moving.

I had a HKS drop-in and it &@*%ed my MAF. It held a real high idle and threw a 0102 code i believe. There are a few threads on here about drop-ins blowing the MAF sensor. You might need a new MAF, this fixed the idle for me. If this is the case it's about $260 Cdn (unsure of US price) for a new MAF.

really high RPM at idle?? like what RPM?

i have heard people got this issue on bone stock MR...

and i do heard a lot of problem even just for drop in filter.
some said the drop in filter would make the car running lean.

im gonna go home now and change it back to stock filter and see how it goes.

another 260 bucks for new MAF that really sucks ....

I am having the same problem as well. Idle is about 1500 rpms and same as when the A/C is on.

I emailed Cobbtuning and they sent me a 1.07v map to solve this problem, but same out come. Emailed cobbtuning with the results and sent them a datalog of what the car is doing. I went back to the 1.04v. map for now until a new map comes out.

i replaced the K&N drop in filter with the stock one. and tried stage one, everything is working normal. i would do more driving tmr and see how it goes.

1.04v was the map I had before updating to 1.06v (had it saved on the AP). Also the 1.04v map I have is for Stage 2 w/ AMS intake.

Side Note:

If you place the SST in neutral when coming to a complete stop the rpms should go down to 750. This was what I was doing in the little time I had the 1.06v map. (Didn't want anything to happen to the SST.)

i just used AP troubleshooting

after installed back stock map, no problem, tried stage one and two, reset ECU, shut off the car and back on, code comes up again. i removed drop in filter and changed it back to stock, seems high idling gone but need more driving tmr and see.
