I have a 2010 Evo MR Touring. 6000kms. Have had the AP Stage 1 93octane installed since 1000kms. Car has been running like a dream on 94octane. The check engine light turned on yesturday while driving around. I used the AP and it showed as cyclinder 2 misfire. Reflashed the ECU and the light went off. About an hour later the light came back on. This time I reflashed to stock, and then reinstalled the Stage 1 93+. Check engine light came on again today. I completely uninstalled the AP and the light went off again. Any idea of whats going on?

Pull the plugs and see what they look like. Post up a picture if you can.

 

Sounds like a bad plug or coil.

 

Why to you continue to think it's the Cobb tune?

Pull the damn #2 plug and have a look see.

The light goes off every time you flash the ecu because you are clearing the codes during the reset. As others have said, check the plugs / coilpack.

 

Pulled all the plugs and cleaned them....check engine light still on. I replaced the #2 plug and everything is back to normal. Thanks guys!!!

I try to always run Chevron 94octane, but sometimes get stuck with Husky/Mohawk 94.

BTW, extremely happy with the car so far. My first mitsu, and it is a blast to daily drive.

Yeah those stock plugs are a hit and miss from the factory. Either they're perfect or have issues from the start! You should try out stage 2, it'll make u even happier. I actually find that I get less knock with husky!
