free power for 2007-2009 evo x's

TSB SC-09-002- CUSTOMER STATES POWER BAND WEAK REFLASH PER TSB SC-09-002 REFLASH PCM PER BULLETIN
i went to have some recalls and a warranty item fixed. while there, the service manager mentioned the new reflash. he said it would give the car more power. it definitely did. it is a very noticeable improvement from the original flash. i would say the new refalsh was very similar to when i flashed cobb stage 1. i have been reading how the 2010's are making more power than the previous year x's. from what i read, people are writing about the "lean spool" being enabled and responsible for this gain. this reflash should make any factory flashed car more powerful and its free.

You mean version 52680022?

Yes, it changes the way the fuel relay operates and and it leans the car a tad bit compared to the older 52680020 map. So yes, there should be a gain. A lot of the changes, you can't see with ECUflash.

So, if I complain - they will flash my ECU for free?

is there a link to the TSB - Seems like if I print it off and take it in, they get my attention.

Just tell them the TSB number and they will look it up. I find it funny that the thread is titled 2007-2009 though since there is only a 2008 and 2010 Evo X.

+1 my contact states this is not a correct TSB number

"I can’t find any such TSB. The code numbers for TSBs are organized by the year they were issued then the coded area of the vehicle that it applies to. I do not see any “sc” marked TSBs and “002” is not a valid component code."

Would you have a link to this perhaps? Thanks!

Hmmm this is interesting! They should make a tsb for the 08's to feel like the 2010 "smoothed out MR's"!

Took our new 08 (purchased two weeks ago - HUH) to the local daler and asked them to check if the car had the most current flash. Plugged it in and updated it to the most current on they had. I attempted to ask what # was on it and did they install 22 but all I got is that the computer detects its not the most current and updates to the most current offered.

I'm scheduling my recall appt right now. My brother had his GG X in for AC repair and they did these recalls and there's noticeable difference. Thanks OP!

I somehow doubt it will do anything for me but I might get the flash and then swap in my altered tables right after they unplug. It's good to be friends with the dealership sometimes.

Probably not. You are in a section where most all of us are self tuned. That new flash would drive like crap on our cars.

No, none of the other people were telling the truth.

Yes, there is a 52680022, this is what the tephra beta maps are running on. If you just want free power it is *NOT* recommended without a wideband, but you can just lean out your factory map by 1 AFR point. My car broke up horribly on the stock 0015 tune.

On the "other" forum, HB posted this new ROM and (more interesting) a dyno comparison of ROM 52680015 vs 52680022 (on 100% stock car).
