Hey tephra, thanks for reply!

My ECU isn't brand new, so there is already a VIN stored in it right now.
I need to change it to mine VIN.

There may also be some immobilizer code which needs to be set.
idk we would have to try it.

Its not working
Can you please generate me a working exe with my VIN?
Standing here at the dealer and MUT refuses writing a new VIN. But I can access it with my tactrix.

Sorry for triple post.

We gave up.
On the MUT you can start "Rewrite VIN" via the immobilizer menue.
Unfornately it kicks us out everytime we say write with an error message.
It is also possible to "Write the VIN" in engine ECU menue. the result is the same error message.
It is possible to read all the details which are stored on the ECU. It is from an 2008 EVO X.

The error message is : "Negative respond from ECU NCR:$10"

I also was able to communicate with it using ECUFlash and the Tactrix cable.
Did a read and write.

We tried it several times but without luck. Had to pay the dealer 2 hours trying to activate it

Now my only hope is your program tephra.
I'll send you my VIN via PN. Maybe you could write it in your program hardcoded so it is only useable to restore my VIN if you care about copyrights.

Michael

EDIT: OK...no PN, your box is full, I'll send it per mail

Vin number in ecu?

Hi Tephra,

I am from Spain and I have a friend that bought an EVO X MR (american version).
He has replaced SST Clutch disks and now the car is not running as expected. He has problems when he is pressing the pedal and revs on the car are rising. Rising is not lineal.
Mitsubishi Spain told him the clutches should do a process of "learning" through the MUT program.
The problem is that VIN number is not from a European car.
I thought if i could place my VIN number in his ECU he could connect his car to the MUT program and do the "learning" process for the clutches.
My car is an European model.

I read you said Ecuflash is not able to read VIN number and you had a program to modify that number.

Can you help us?

Thank you!
Manel.
