Smile about 2011 JDM

On 8th Oct. Mitsu released 2011 JDM Evo X GSR and RS:
http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/pub...etail4401.html

According to the announcement, ECU fuel & timing tables are changed to improve fuel efficiency, SST controller also improved ( 'skip shift' at decelerating ), and emergency brake control improved.

But, in these changes, the most astonishing one is that an 'eco-lamp' was added. 'eco-lamp' on Evo!! It's so horrible!!

LOL, I assume that by eco-lamp you are talking about a light that changes from green to red (or similar) based on your driving habits?

Will be nice to look at the tables... I wonder if they look anything like the tables tephra posted.

Is that what an ecolamp is? I've never heard of it.

You are right.
Green eco-lamp is being turned on when driver accelerating softly, cruising constant velocity, and so on. These days, Japanese are too nervous to fuel efficiency. Every day at every street, I see prius, prius, and prius again.

interesting.

ugakirk,

It's like this(#6):

If you put a lot of effort into turn the 'eco-lamp' on as long and/or frequent as possible, Your can save your gas. :-)

Hello jackygor,

Whats with the 4wd lock thing? Eco-lamp reminds me or ambalamps
The pic I took from mitsu site may be for JDM outlander sports or outlander. '4wd lock' mode doesn't exist in stock Evo X. gems acd controller has it with 'free' mode.(it has 5 modes and customizable. cool.)

I'm intersted in the US ambulance's ambalamps. You mean the big light on the loof of them or something in their console?

it ll be interesting to see what the new tune gives us
Certainly. I expect, too. Maybe 2011 USDM have the same improvements to their ECU, SST controller, and so on. ( except 'eco-lamp'!! You are lucky. )

Interesting, I translated that page and it looks like some other features are nice:

-Tilt-based alarm (if the car is tilted a certain amount while locked it will go off)
-TV tuner for the MMCS
-Brake assist for emergency braking situations (this could be good or bad depeneding on how it is implemented)
-Lower emissions
