Yes, I have the ODBII Boo-tooth device (cheapo from China) and the Torque (Free version) Android app.

What would you like to know about it?

How is it working for you?

Specifically:

What is the sampling speed?
What ECU metrics can you monitor live?
Does it clear Evo X DTC's
Are you overall happy with it?

I would guess the sampling speed is as good as it gets given its off Bluetooth too.

There is a nice list of metrics you can watch live, here they are (the asterisks mean the system has data for it):
* Acceleration Sensor(Total)
* Acceleration Sensor(X axis)
* Acceleration Sensor(Y axis)
* Acceleration Sensor(Z axis)
* Altitude (GPS)
* Ambient air temp
* Engine Coolant Temperature
* Engine Load
* Engine RPM
* Fuel level
* Fuel trim bank 1 sensor 1
* Fuel trim bank 1 sensor 2
* Intake Air Temperature
* Intake Manifold Pressure
* Mass Air Flow rate
* O2 Volts Bank 1 Sensor 1
* O2 Volts Bank 1 sensor 2
* Speed (GPS)
* Speed (ODB)
* Throttle Position
* Timing Advance
* Trip Distance
0-100kph Time
0-60mph Time
1/4 mile time
1/8 mile time
Fuel pressure
Fuel trim bank 1 sensor 3
Fuel trim bank 1 sensor 4
Fuel trim bank 2 sensor 1
Fuel trim bank 2 sensor 2
Fuel trim bank 2 sensor 3
Fuel trim bank 2 sensor 4
Horsepower
Kilometers Per Litre
Kilometers Per Litre(Average)
Litres Per 100 Kilometer
Liters Per 100 Kilometer(Average)
Miles Per Gallon(Average)
Miles Per Gallon(Instant)
O2 Volts bank 1 sensor 3
O2 Volts bank 1 sensor 4
O2 Volts bank 2 sensor 1
O2 Volts bank 2 sensor 2
O2 Volts bank 2 sensor 3
O2 Volts bank 2 sensor 4
Torque
Turbo Boost & Vacuum Gauge
Voltage
Fuel Status
Secondary air status
Fuel & Air Status
Eco Warrior
Raw Data Display
Drive cylce status since DTC clear
Current Drive cycle status

Yes it does log Codes for you and you can Clear them.
I recently had a P050b code. I was able to clear the code with Torque.

I understand there has been some software fixes specific to our turbo cars, in particular the Boost gauge in this app. Although it's fun to play with this I wouldn't use it as any replacement for the real deal. Code clearing aside it's fun to use.

Here is the version of the Torque app I used:

Looks like it displays everything that you see in CAN OBDII, theres also a similiar app available for iPad and iPhone that does the same things, its really cool.

robertq, have you had any problems with accessing all of the data with the obdBT device?

I actually have the same ELM327 Bluetooth OBD-II Wireless Transceiver Dongle which I am trying to use with racechrono, but I can't get it to reliably log everything I want. It will usually log rpms and coolant temp, but tps only seems to work 1/20 tries. I don't think it's my unit because it will work perfecty with my infiniti fx35, but the evo X performance has been unreliable at best. I'm waiting on delivery for an obdkey to see if that will work...

On the list I posted above which one is TPS? Is it Throttle Position?
If so, then yes I have seen this get logged but I don't log it often. But the Boost was a problem for Mitsubishi cars at one point, so it's possible this one has software issues somewhere for our cars.

correct, tps=throttle position. I've tried to log boost in the past as well, but it's just as tempermental as tps. I've only been able to successfully log boost once.

Hoping the obdkey works better....

Thanks

don't flame me too hard for this, I'm sure the answer is no, but can you skip getting a boost gauge and use your phone for tuning purposes?

If the resolution suits your needs - sure... but whoever is tuning could also just log boost for a WAY more accurate / by data point readout.

If "tuning" is just dialing in boost with an MBC.

Proper tuning requires logging parameters that aren't available on the OBD-II protocol.
