Problems Linking to ECU

I am new to EvoScan, when I try to log I get an ECU link only for a short time, sometimes 5 min., sometimes only 30 sec.! I lose the link and must restart EvoScan (v2.8), sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t. This is making logging difficult in the extreme, I must find a cure!

I had very similar issues and it turned out it was because i changed the spark plugs to non resistor type, EG i put in BP8ES not BPR8ES,

This was causing my car to log sometimes not others disconnect not reconnect etc

Yes, Bryan sent me the right definition file for implementing mode 23 and I have read/followed the sticky, still I have no idea what "mode 23" really is or what it does, just that I need it for some obscure reason.

It is working now, I do not what or how but it is fixed. all I did was add a right angle OBD2 port extension but that should not have fixed anything, possibly the pin 9 problem I read of somewhere? I would have removed pin 9 as suggested but I was not sure where pin 9 was and did not want to risk ruining my OP2 cable. Also the SW (v2.8) acts a bit differently now, the voice saying "Link connected" and the yellow message box have disappeared, just the normal box with either "start logging" or "stop logging" remain, weird. Anyway it is working so I'm happy.

2010 MR-T (SST)
Stock clutch packs
OEM DiaQueen SST fluid
SSP trans Deep Sump
SSP Front mount trans cooler
OEM intake w/dropin
CBRD BBX full Turbo
AMS DP
RRE Rally test pipe
MXP II CBE
DP 1000 injectors
BlaqOps single pump
WORKS tune using OP (cleaned up by Bryan)
Green relay (yeah that’s it, it MUST be a faulty fuel pump relay

I just want to add a note here. DO NOT REMOVE ANY PHYSICAL PINS ON THE OP2.0. It is _NEVER_ necessary.

Thank you! after reading: "Note that it is now considered a good idea to remove pin 9 from the OpenPort2 cable to prevent damage to the ETACS ECU. Pin 9 is only used for flashing Subaru ECUs." from the bottom of Page 31 in Merlins excellent guide I amost went and cut the pin but as the logging was now maintaining the link I did not bother.
