So with stage 2 I sometimes hit 28 psi. I installed the LWG map which just isn't as fun. With original I never got any cutting out as I have read. Is this amount of overboost unsafe?

 

Safe is a relative term...

Will you blow up the engine? Probably not, but is there a more likely chance of it? Sure. I personally would not run that much boost with pump gas unless you're constantly logging and have a nice intercooler.

Since you're local, you should consider getting a protune to really take advantage of your setup. I can almost guarantee you that you'll make more power on less boost making the car both safer and more fun.
