Look for the merlins guide, it has a descent write up on cam phasing. The evo x tech manual also has some description on what overlapping and separating cam phase between the seperate valves can accomplish.

If you are very interested in optimizing these settings, I would suggest firing up ricardo Wave, and model the cam lobes, and run several d.o.e.'s ..... if only I had that kind of time.

The general idea is to increase overlap(the time that the intake and exhaust valve are simultaneously open) near 2000 to spool, (4200) and then reduce the overlap. As your engine is pumping in more air, with fluid flow velocities increasing, your back pressure in the exhaust will start to 'push' against the intake charge pressure, which will decrease the cars pumping volumetric efficiency, this inhibit the air flow, which will thus produce less power than possible.

I have done real little actual testing of this with my ride, so I too must read more and test

I know the basic concept, the problem is I will have to do a lot of testing and no dyno near me...
I believe I should run more advance on the intake cam & more retard on the exst cam all the way.. but i was hoping some people who already did it can post their maps

Currently any map that you have for stock cams works very well with the S2s. I have experimented alot with the X and oddly enough I keep coming back to the same map.

that's interesting ... i stopped making power with big intake cam advance on a 5858.
Similar with a few Kelford B cars... there's a point where you stop making power

then again, it depens what your stock cam mivec maps are like i guess!
