Maybe you are getting close to the 0 mark.

Yeah, before you drove it off the lot the first time, you could of had anything you wanted fixed. After that, *poof* gone.

ECU good for 100 flashes? Hmm, I must have reflashed 220+ times. Maybe I should change my approach of small, iterative changes.

Naaaaaaaaaah. She'll be right.

I'd like to know about this too.

Sorry if this has already been discussed in another thread, but is there also a flash counter then for the VIIIs and IXs? I'm afraid to see what mine might be at. In just the 2 years that I've owned it, I bet I've flashed it well over 100 times. God only knows how many total times it's been flashed since 2003

I doubt it for the CT9A's!

The ECU isn't required to permanently store any information (like VIN, Perm DTC's, etc)

Great news!
Do you know if reading (only) the ECU can modify the counter? Because I've done it and I'd like to know if the dealer can see something different.
My doubt is due to the fact that after reading, the engine light turned on, so the ECU have detected something different...I don't know if it has also recorded that kind of "problem"

A "Read ECU" in ECUFlash constitutes a programming session, so yes the counter will be incremented.

Do you have an SST equipped EvoX?

yeah so for SST's 50/50 you will get a DTC/CEL after you read/write...

Just clear the code and continue

Thanks!
I've done that: reading the ECU with the car on a dyno, done some pulls, in the dash was flashing more or less every kind of light and when I put the car down the engine light was the only one still on.
I've took again the laptop, and so on but there weren't codes according to evoscan.
After that I turned off my car and then all seemed right, no more engine light.

would it considered a count if the dealer set my oil change reminder from 3000 miles to 4500 miles? the tech who did it told me that he used the OBDII thingy and set it on the computer to say 4500 miles instead of 3000 miles.
