Found a flashing counter
oh damnn i jus stumbled onto this thread...didnt know theres a "recommended" number of flashes. i constantly flash between my 91 and 94 maps depending on what gas is available for me. x__x
I believe I had read somewhere that if you flash too many times the ecu could begin having errors... But seeing these people with hundreds of flashes... Obviously that threshold is very high, if there at all lol.
sounds like its something like the xbox 360's use for nand chip or way different?
thanks for answering my questions. i owe you another donation soon also.
tephra,
is there any way to get the ability to change this? (paid sep app?) If we can see how many its at now we can at least at our choice set it to what we want. (In my case my car has been flashed 4x.) Also I know you don't control evoscan but does that actually clear ALL dtc's from a flash on a MR? Thanks!

The only time I can see this ever being used by mitsu is if they have to send engineers to investigate a big warranty like an engine, tranny, diff etc etc.
So unless you are worried about warranty, continue enjoying your tuned evo
Otherwise, you have to pay to play my friends.

well this isn't your calibration id
thats basically just a checksum that mitsu match when you go in for service... if it doesn't match then mitsu assume that you have either flashed it, or done the update yourself, or they did the update but forgot to make note of it

For sure there is no factory flash counter that communicates with MUT software anyways I think what you got there (and the skill to get to it) is so far beyond anything anyone at Mits could ever get into that it's probably not too much to worry about with warranty stuff. Glad you don't work for them!
