The plug you are talking about... is it the power / control wire for the AC clutch? ...is it a single wire that plugs into the AC compressor?

When you say "the rad fan does not kick off" do you mean it does not turn on or it does not turn off? That statement is confusing.

Amazing that the dealer couldn't find anything....

The plug is a 2 wire I believe, and as soon as you plug it up both fans kick on and does not shut off when the car is running. Also the AC still does not work!

Hello.

(If you can flash the ECU)Did you flash back to the stock ROM and checked whether the AC worked or not?

Guys could I just use a stock ecu from another evo x? Id like to use it at the dealership so they can't blame the ecu flash. Is there anything that would not let it work...

I could be wrong but It's possible if the fans are going full tilt that your ECU is bricked but somehow still driving. You can find out rather quickly if you can read the rom with ecuflash and then write it back... if it won't write then the ECU is in a partially failed state and you need to bench the ECU with a battery and some jumper wires as shown here.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-pictures.html

Basically by writing the ECU with a clean ROM again it should take care of fans running as soon as you start up a cold car. One of my sponsors cars was left in this state when it was shipped here and it sure was a surprise when I couldn't communicate to the ECU without benching it.

The sad part is the previous "tooner" said they programmed the car to kick on the fan all the time to keep it cooler... and he drives the car in the winter in Canada. Ugh...

Well that's sounds interesting^^^ the the problem started when I got a recent tune not knowing my AC fan plug was not connected. I rarely use my AC so I didn't know it was not working untill about a month after the tune. I found the plug not connected so I plugged it up now the fans run All the time on full tilt when the car is running.

I say buy a tactrix cable and do what Hiboost said. I'm sure you can even PM him with more details if needed.

That or I would take it to a good A/C shop and see what they can find. There maybe something else still unplugged. Don't trust the dealer..

Just google it. You can buy them online. The X needs a different cable than the VIII/IX's though. I think we need the 2.0 version or something. Not real sure on the part number. I think they are usually around 100-150 bucks or something, but then you can change the maps and read the ECU anytime..

I know on my Ralliart I went and changed a the Stationary Rev Limiter On & Off parameters thinking they'd limit the revs to the setting on there when the car was stationary... It didn't change a damn thing... but my A/C stopped working. Changed them back to the default values and wala, the AC worked again. Not saying this is your issue, but can't hurt to check.

no you cant plug in another ECU (each ECU is programmed for one car, to reprogram it you need a dealer/mutiii)
