AC controlled by the ecu?
Just wondering if the ecu has anything to do with the AC. Got a tune a few weeks back and now the AC doesn't work, I don't use it often so it might have been bad for a while.

Ok took the car to the dealer today they checked everything and said nothing was wrong. The tech said he Thinks because of the custom tune the ecu is not turning the air on! Does anybody know if the ecu in anyway can effect the AC! Is there anyway the AC could have been turned off in the tune I received?
I didn't think the ECU controlled the AC, but I don't know for sure.. I've NEVER heard of that before. Maybe try posting in the tuning section.. When I got a tune on my VIII, they accidently unplugged my compressor as they were installing my EBC at the same time.

Ok did some searching on the car today I took the front bumper off and found a plug not connected! It seems to be a temperature sensor located right behind the plastic wingnut that drains the coolant. The metal tube has a A sticker on it, after plugging it up I thought for sure it would fix the problem, wrong!!! Now with the sensor plugged up the rad fan does not kick off. Unplug it fan kicks off, and it didn't fix the air. Any clue guys?
If Evo Xs are like other Mitsus, then the ECU turns off the AC under several situations including high water temp, high engine load, and high RPM. (Those were the three on a 2G DSM.) If your tuner reprogrammed the water-temp offset (which some do, in order to get the fans to turns on earlier), then the ECU might be "seeing" a higher temp than is true and preventing the AC from coming on. Alternatively, if the tuner played with the load calculator as a easy (and silly) way to alter fuel and timing, then, again, he or she may have done something that is preventing the ECU from letting the AC run.
The engine ECU controls the fan system. Which includes the main fan and A/C fan.
It's in duty cycle from 168F to 208F
Conditions:
MainFan 0-20kph
A/C Fan 0-20kph
Main + AC 0-20kph
and also all of the above plus:
20-50kph
50-80kph
80+ kph

Thanks this means nothing to me ^^^. But I'll will ask Chad about it, so most likely I was tuned with this sensor unplugged. Maybe Chad changed some of the values because the car was getting hot...
