Attn XML gurus: info regarding rev hang/deceleration
A random missfire code or an injector fault code trips it into his happy mode. He can disconnect an injector (when idling) for 30 seconds or so, long enough to trip the SES light and then reconnect it. When this code is set, then he gets no throttle hang.
He is looking for a path in the programming for "if code P0201, then switch to this map". Well... he isnt looking for it. He is looking for someone sharp enough to find it :-) P0201-4 does it, P0301-4 seems to also.

I have noticed the throttle hanging during overrun on my 08 GSR as well. I actually noticed it when I turned off my traction control. Hard pull, foot off pedal expecting overrun (injectors to turn off) but the car keeps going. Scared the crap out of me!
Just a little update on my car... I have found the best way to get the SES light to come on is to unplug an injector while the car is idling, turn off the engine, then start it right back up (then plug the injector back in of course.) Simply unplugging an injector while idling doesn't always turn it on.
Has anyone else had any success with this little trick? I'm hoping someone with datalogging capabilities can try it just to confirm it doesn't create a dangerous situation. Otherwise, I have been unplugging the injector in my car for the past 2 months and the decel works like a dream.

I don't have any way to run the codes in my car. Mike W (see his post above with code info) was able to determine it was a misfire that originally turned the SES light on and ever since, I have been disconnecting an injector to achieve the same result.
One thing to note though... since I posted the update, my car seems to have caught on to what I've been doing and no longer has consistent deceleration with the SES light on. The light only stays on for about a day now instead of 3-4 days like it had been for the past couple months. My plan at the moment is to give it a week or so then pull the injector again... and pray to the ECU gods! I'll let you know how it goes.
