1000cc injector = Retune?

Trying to save a few bucks and install my injectors (1000cc) and fuel pump myself before getting retuned. Currently I'm on stock injectors and they're running at 96% duty cycle, so if I were to install the 1000's would they too be running at that same 96% cycle and essentially flood the engine? I've been told all sorts of things like if I install them before tune I'll just run REALLY rich, I've also been told I'd actually run LEAN, another guy told me until I did injector scaling that the ECU would only allow the amount of fuel the stock 565cc's put out to come out of the 1000cc's until I got scaled and retuned….I'm flippin baffled, what can you guys tell me since I know there's a plethora of knowledge here….Thanks for the help fellas

Injectors are driven by an on/off pulse width. Open / close. It holds them open for x amount of time per intake stroke. That is your IPW value that you can log. If you do not scale your injectors, you will be running the exact same IPW values as the stock injectors needed. Beings the stock injectors are roughly half the size of your 1000cc injectors, you will be squirting twice as much fuel into your engine. That will be a rich condition.

The new injectors will also have different dead times. aka latency

Really rich is an understatement.

The question you should be asking is, will my car start? Answer: No
Will your car run? Answer: No

You can push your car the 3 hours, you can have it towed the 3 hours, but the engine won't help you.

get to where ever you are going early and install the injectors in the parking lot.

you will be fine to install the fuel pump in advance

^^^What this guy said

I drove for an hour to get my tune with 1000cc injectors in and it was horrible. Could barely go up hills because once you hit boost it would sputter and stalled when I stopped.

This post actually helped me out too. I will be, in the near future, upgrading the injectors and fuel pump along with installing a fuel pressure regulator and then a tune. I will wait and have the shop install everything along with the tune
