blobbits.

for the average user you dont need to worry about them... they are part of the definition language used to defined maps in roms..

I don't consider myself an average user. but neither am i a expert by any means. just a novice user. I come from a computer engineering background. I have downloaded my ROM found mode23. To me when looking at the definition files that use blobbits it is a datatype. But what type i have no clue and why it would be beneficial.

that kindof makes sense now. lol. i did some research and found out that BLOB stands for BINARY LARGE OBJECT . learn something new every day. so, im assuming by setting the data type to blobbits we are allowing the values show itself in its binary form rather than a hexadecimal value. allowing the user greater control of each bit in the BLOB

mmm, you can do cool things like associating a "text" value with binary/hex/decimal data.

So the user can see "Off", "On", "Hello", "Goodbye", whatever and not see the real data...

Yeah, that stuff is really handy. I've used it with RAX Patch xmls, so you just switch b etween "Patch ENABLED" <-> "Disabled"... and a chunk of binary stuff gets tweaked as a result.

Way better than asking people to type in raw hex! lol
