P1320, and P0420! need help

Well P1320 comes on every few weeks on a cold start. Something relating to ignition retard, but from my research I'm not sure how to fix it. Since I'm tuned, I am not considering letting the dealer re-flash "their' tune to fix it.

Also P0420 comes on semi frequently, like twice a week usually. Not sure what causes this exactly, I think it is something with the 2nd o2 sensor( possibly on its way out?)

I'd really like to get these sorted out as they drive me nuts. Car is not affected by either of these codes, no loss of power or anything.

Mods on my car include: tune, TBE w/hfc, uicp, and cai.

The 0420 is because of your high flow cat. It lets more junk through so the rear 02 sensor gets mad and thinks it isn't working properly. It can be fixed in your tune

Not sure about the other one. I got it once a long time ago but it was fixed with the latest dealer reflash. I don't know why you'd be getting it if you're tuned

THe 0420 is a catalyst efficiency below threshold code. My car had that issue but the older cars ROM's have the force inspection thing which can just set monitors to ready, or you can check out my car and see how I "fixed" mine. I'll just be chillin all day. PM me if you want and Ill give you my cell and we can meet up or whatever.

Its a 2008. I have not gotten the p1320 in a while, but I was getting it consitently for a week or two then it stopped popping up.

In order for P1320 to be set,

-Engine coolant temp must be 7*(45*F) and 36*(97*F)
--------So the outside temp is between these two numbers, because the code is set during startup. Unless of course, it is below 45*F outside and you drove the car, parked, then restarted.

-For 10 seconds, the difference between the basic ignition timing and the target/specified ignition timing is 3* or less on average during the retard control.
---------You need to give this information to whoever did the tune. The re-tune will not effect overall horsepower, because the CEL is only set during cold start. The difference between your base timing, and whatever your tuner set the base timing to, has a difference of over 3*.

Sean Ivey knows these cars a million times better than me. I just dug up this information for why the ECU even throws the CEL in the first place.

Hope this helps.
