Hey fellas, new guy here. I recently leased a 2013 Evo MR WW. Premium Package w/Nav FYI. I freaking love this car. I came from the Honda world. So this is huge step up. So far no complaints except, I WANT MORE!!. I don't want to change any part on the car right now. I will purchase a drop in HKS Air filter. I want to just tune the car. and get 30-50WHP for now. There is just so much info on the web that I don't know where to begin or what to expect.

I hear about a COBB accessport. I hear about some reflashes. I want to know if my 2013 can be tuned up and what should I do? I'd like to do it myself but maybe I should get a real tune. Guys point me in the right direction.

I'd say if you never tuned a car, you're not near tuning yours. It takes countless hours of reading and understanding how the ECU works. A good start for you would be getting a tactrix cable and a remote tune.
There is many very good remote tuners here

As far for COBB, they offer a plug'n play tune, depending your mods.

 

I've always said the best thing you can do for an Evo, even a bone-stock one, is a tune. It's a night and day difference. If you haven't tuned anything before, wouldn't suggest starting on an Evo though. A couple ways you can go about it are buying a Tactrix cable ($170) and having one of the many tuners on here (including me) remote tune you. You'll need a laptop for this also. Or you could buy a Cobb Access Port ($595) and either download one of their Stage 1 maps (which are still very conservative, but better than stock) or, again, have one of us tune you. The drop in filter is definitely a good idea though, get that restrictive stock one out of there!
