After market ECU and SST
After market ECU and SST
I'd like to use a Gems or Motec diff controller but they will only work with one of their ECUs. The posibility of anti lag would be nice too. The problem is the plug and play ECUs don't work with the SST.
I know that you don't have to use the plug and play version of Motec so I was wondering if a good tuner could pair a Motec to my stock ECU. That way the stock ECU could talk to the SST or TCU and the Motec could handle everything else. It seems like it should work. Anyone know where to get this kind of tuning done?

I was talking about this with my tuner, and he said he will look into the Gems or the Motec about this .
next week I will be in EU to work and see a rally race or even races if it works out
So I will ask around for additional info's on that, what changed lately . I think there is an option for sequential shifters, so it is might be possible for the SST.
But if you have to go all the OEM + Standalone together , like a Frankenstein set up. I wouldn't do it.
Motec and Gems - Pectel... I wouldn't miss match them. Specially when they are very closely priced. Also I am not sure that is even possible
About ECU choice:
Here is what my tuner said about the ECU choices for the Evo. He is a certified Motec- Pectel -Gems tuner and dealer. Also he works very closely with those companies so as Dyno Dynamics Australia.
The Motec is an easier friendlier unit build by race engeneers to motorsport enthusiast, and pro's. Supports on Websites , easy downloads etc.
While the Gems/Pectel build for race engineers by race engineers, not really for motorsport enthusiast.
Meaning the Motec is more user friendly hence can be easier of the hobby side of the motorsport. More understandable easier to use, in other words if that makes it more clearer , kind of the Iphone (Motec)vs Android ( Gems/Pectel).
I would pick the Motec for this reason alone in the United States.
The Pectel unit same as the Gems, requires a bit more and deeper knowledge to get them right. But a same time they give you a "better results", more detailed. But that is only matters if you really go hard core. Which we dont.
PS; but I still got the Gems. I was planning to get the Pectel, but I had to wait way too much for it. And In the states they only had the Cosworth version for almost a same price.
That is all I know if that is a help.

That does help, thanks. I was hoping I could just use the Kaps ACD with the stock ECU but Kaps emailed me saying it won't work. I have a feeling I'll end up on stock ECU and stock ACD so hopefully someone will start tuning the ACD.
I am planning to put mechanical diffs in and am not worried about AYC.
Cusco recommended MZ 1 way in front and RS (AYC compatible) 2 way rear for gravel. I think I have to keep the AYC in place to stay in stock class but I can disable it with ACD tuning.

Maybe you can test with Sabin? https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...evo-x-acd.html
