Out of curiosity, with an AP cost ~$450, the custom STX300 map costs about ~425 which I would think is about the same if not more than a custom tune for a stock car. Is this package cost effective compared to a custom tune?

A custom tune on the dyno is 575.00 for the Evo X using the Cobb AccessPort. You wouldn't see much gains from a custom tune on the dyno compared to the STX400 flash with these modifications.

you're always safe with AMS
Cobb still has only released "rough drafts" of the 2013 tunes...and it's a virtual mutiny of people sick of waiting. It left the perfect opening for a tuner like AMS to come in, grab the beta's, spend the time and money it takes to finish them properly, and add it to their lineup. Props to them.

go for it, you'll be glad you did.

The flash sold separately is 425.00 if you already have the Cobb AccesPort

The difference is that the STX400 package includes the bolt on parts and also has a different tune than the STX300 package to account for the parts being added on to the vehicle.

So if we have those AMS parts, the STX 400 flash will work?

That is correct, if you already have the parts that are included in the package, then the flash will work just fine.

You can definitely purchase the tune separately and the cost is 425.00 if you already have the Cobb AccessPort.

Hey AMS! If I had the parts included in the STX400 package except for the TBE portion, would the STX300 tune be fine? Namely, would the STX300 tune be enough for let's say just an AMS SRI because on the site, it says that the SRI requires a tune to safely run it. Thanks!
