Car is stuttering around 4,000 RPMS..
So I have a 2012 evo gsr with only 2,500 miles on it. and I bought it used at a dealership and to my knowledge and by looking under the hood It was completly stock. When I bought the car all I did to it was put in a cat back exhaust. about three weeks into owning the car I can either go medium throttle or even wide open throttle and the car would not go anywhere and it was just keep rolling and the RPMs would be stuttering around 4,000 RPMS.. If i drive slow its fine, it seems if i build up boost and go over 10lbs of boost quickly it runs into the problem.
Now while all this is happening a service engine soon light comes on and i get it scanned and its a code P0171.. which basically means my car is running lean.. so now I already have these two problems and I just bought this car.
I bring it to a mitsubishi dealership and they are running tests and checking for vacuum leaks and see nothing. They have no idea what it is. They suspect the previous owner before me had modded out the ecu because they said they saw the car run over stock boost. (I believe 18lbs is stock.)
so now I have no idea what to do. I have set up an appointment with a tuning shop to get it checked out but why can no one figure this out? Im not sure if my catback is causing all these problems. and someone has informed me about this video of a hose being loose by the the oil dipstick and that is securely fastened. does anyone else have any input on what they think it is? Im having such bad luck with a brand new car that I do not want to get rid of because I do enjoy driving it!

Oh and also I forgot to mention considering that this is supposed to be stock. I noticed that a couple times my boost gauge read over 20lbs of boost. so would that cause my problem that im having? its pushing more boost than stock on stock components?
