i was just on youtube looking at if its worth it to get a cobb access port and in the comments a guy wrote that he had a cat back and didn't have a access port and another comment stated that he's wreck his car by driving it around without at least a access port or better yet a tune. i bought a used evo x and it has a k and n air box and the, am i wrecking my car by not having an access port???

 

No idk what the hell that guy is talking about he obviously isn't very intelligent. Honestly until you have some more modifications on their I wouldn't worry about gettibg a tune. However if you feel unsafe buy a wideband afr and monitor your trims at wot and idle

 

I have a cat back with no tune and the car is running fine. I would recommend a tune for anything else you add, intake, test pipe, down pipe etc. just to be safe.

 

Even a full exhaust doesn't need tuning for - you won't get the best out of it but it won't break your car either. Neither will running either a k & n filter or a pod that uses the standard maf sensor.

However, even without Mods a basic tune will add kw and better shifting for the sst
