Can someone take a peek at my data logs?

I have been trying to figure out why I am getting P0012 and P0017 coming up on my car.

P0012 is Timing being over retarded.

Is there anyway to tell if timing is infact being pulled too much from these logs?

These logs show when I am just cruising in town and on the freeway.

I have been told that the timing chain may have stretched but I have confirmed with the Mitsu dealership that the chain is fine (trying to get a second opinion from a local shop just in case). I have checked the sensors and they seem fine as well. Changing spark plugs, FPR and possibly the oil control solenoid next. Thanks for any input.

logs on the other thread I made:

I would pull your valve cover and physically check (visually verify) that your timing chain isnt stretched

Follow the steps laid out here:

http://roadraceengineering.com/blog/?p=3687

replace the chain if necessary, you should be set to go afterwards.

in the mean time, avoid boost, high-revs, and excessive load on the engine

I looked at your logs and am at a loss for the codes. Target seems to follow commanded close enough there shouldnt be an issue.

I saw that on another older post and did do a visual check. The chain is within tolerance from the visual check (chain still left of the indicators). There isn't any slack in the chain so I don't think it would have skipped a tooth or anything so didn't bother with checking the timing marks on the cam gears. plus I read that if I did skip a tooth or the timing was really that off, I would have ****ty idle....

I really appreciate you checking it out. Yeah the car drives fine, idles as smooth as the first day I got it and there is absolutely no drop in power. I actually feel better that you don't see anything wrong either. Maybe I should just have the dealership reset the learned values and see if it comes back. It looks like the Cobb AP only clears the code but not reset anything.

well, after discussing the issue with a local shop, I got the timing chain updated as nothing else seemed to be the culprit. Checked all the sensors and solenoids and they all seem to be in fine working order.

The car, again, runs like day one and everything is fine with no lost in power. Still getting the P0017 code coming up. Haven't had the P0012 code come up yet but that usually took a few days to pop up before so I will have to wait and see. I am at a lost here as to what I need to do to get this problem fixed...

Are there any inline filters/screens in the head and/or block that might be affecting oil flow to the solenoids and actuators?

no filters on the sensors and doesn't seem like the solenoids have any filters either. I clear the codes and the p0017 code comes back with the SES light pretty much immediately.

The P0012 codes up in 2-3 days with the red "Maintenance required" light on the LCD display.

There is a TSB for having the ECM reprogrammed for both of those codes. If you have checked the oil control valve and timing chain already, you may have to take it to the dealer for the update. For reference the TSB# is 11-13-007

Hope that helps!

Thanks, I will see if that helps. I called the dealer about it and they just told me to drive it more...saying it should reset itself and read the new values. I am just going to have them do the reprogramming per the TSB. thanks again.

Wondering how you made out with your car throwing that code and having it cleared, I am having the exact same issue over and over since last October. Dealerships has gone through all the same steps as yours but again the code is on, timing chain was replaced last year with the new model replaced all the tensioner and pulleys they check the new chain a few weeks ago say everything is good just drive it, going crazy
