I have been searching the Inter-Webs to see if wiring the blue data logging cable off the UEGO wideband straight to a USB connector instead of using the unreliable serial to USB adapter. Unfortunately the only link that looked like it had the information i needed isn't working. Has anyone tried this or is it even possible? I'm having trouble with my data logging and think it would just be a-lot cleaner to have the cable go straight to a USB connector. Any information would be appreciated. I have access to USB connectors heads and have decent soldering skills.

 

They are different protocols so it's not a matter of soldering -- there is no wiring diagram -- you need logic in between. You'll have to stick to a USB<->Serial converter.
