HI, just got my OP2.0 cable and tryed to read the ecu since i do have and uknow map on it.

I cant open it in EcuFlash, my car is USDM gsr 2012, i tryed the xml def from Goldens site but no luck, i just copyed the Golden def map into ecuflash rommadata map.
Do i need to do anything else to see and edit the map i have goten from ecu? Itsn and SRF fille and hex edito at addres 50020 show just FFFFFFFFFFF.....
i cant find clear guide on how to open those kind of maps.

You are making two mistakes.

First, the file to look up addresses must be in .bin (or .hex) format, not .srf. Save your opened .srf as a .bin format.

Second, the ECU ID address is incorrect. It's 0x5002a, not 0x50020.

Your ECU ID is 59585958.

WARNING: ROMs tuned by a professional tuners should not be uploaded without their permission.

Below is the way to make the definition for your rom.
1. Download 59580006 2015 USDM Lancer EvolutionX ５MT.xml from Bryan's site.
2. Open the .xml file by a text editor.
3. Change 59580006 to 59585958 as below :

It's not a rom. You already have rom(you uploaded it.)
The link I posted is the definition file(.xml) of 59580006. Just right click the link and download(save) it.

After downloading it, open the xml file by a text editor and change the contents as I explained and save it.

After that, put it into your ecuflash's 'rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo/' folder.
If you already have a defnition file for 59585958, just replace it.

I have an X MR and I recently bought the Tactrix 2.0 with Ecuflash.

I tried to read the ECU but I had the same "error" (Unknown ROM image). I think that the problem will be that there is not a correct XML file in the Rommedata folder.

Can someone help me??

Hi Eneko,
Please follow CrimsonRed's instructions earlier in the thread. Continue using the ROM image with no definition. Then save the .srf as a .bin file. Use a hex editor to open the .bin file and look up your rom id.
Find a similar stock rom and modify it to match your rom ID. ECU flash will then recognize the rom.

If you have further trouble please upload the .srf file and we will try to help.

I went to the garage and read the ECU. I have obtained the .bin file and I have opened with a Hex editor.

I think that the XML file that I need is the next one: 53050109.xml (Is it correct??)
