ThephraV3 bricks ECU

HI,

with help from users of this forum i managed to read and copy my ROM to V3 mod.
I have a problem now, when i tryed to flash it to the car via OBD it did brick my ECU, the meesage said that flash was sucessful but car didnt start up and there were fans running...
I took the ECU out of the car and unbricked it, also tryed flashing the V3 mod to the ecu on bench and it wetn just fine, but when i tryed to read/write the ecu i said that there is and error (pic 1).

I then with recovery method flashed back on the old file and it was back to normal i could read/write normaly, i didnt try plugin the ecu in the car and tryed to start ith with V3 file after sucessful bench flash thou.

the pure V3 file that Tephra sent to me works just fine on the ecu, havent tryed to start the car thou.

Kidn regards, Nik

PS:. sry for my english and any misspeling :/

Just some quick questions.(Assuming you got a TephraXMod V3 rom and you're trying to use it.)

1. What ID of TephraXMod V3 rom did you get from tephra? 59580304?
2. Currently can you flash a rom to your ecu normally?
3. Did you follow below steps before flashing TephaXMod V3 rom to your ecu and was it finished fine?(Written in tephra's site.)
In order to flash V2 OR V3 normally (ie in Car, and not on a Bench), you must be using EcuFlash 1.44.4xxx and above; additionally you need to configure your EcuFlash to ignore the "protected memory areas", by downloading and running the mitsucan_memory_override registry file. Simply open the zip, and double click the reg file inside, you will be warned when running the reg file, but be assured it's perfectly safe!

Hi, Crimson, thanks for helping again!

1. Yes, that is the file i got.
2. I can flash ROM to car normaly, the message at the end says that the flash was sucessful. But when i try to start the car as soon i turn ignition on the fans start spining and car just cranks and does not start.
3. I opene the zip file and did everything as was said, but i dont know what you mean by ¨ and was it finished fine?¨

Thanks for help!

I mean by 'and was it finished fine?' whether no error showed and completed or not.

If you can read a rom image from the ecu by ecuflash, and the rom you read from the ecu can be opened and the contents of it is normal, then your ecu seems not to be bricked.
In that case, just make sure that all of the values of the maps in that rom are set to the correct value for your car.
If that doesn't work, contact tephra and explain the situation.

Currently you can't flash/read a rom by your ecuflash???

But you replied to my question like below in your previous post(You wrote you can flash a rom to your car normally).
I'm a little confused because your answer is the exact opposite of the last time.

In short, you can flash/read a stock rom with an ecuflash, but once you flash a TephraXMOD V3 rom, you can no longer flash/read a rom. So you do a bench to recovery your ecu. Is it correct?

If so, I think it's a V3 flash issue, so please contact tephra and explain the situation him.

Any update? Trying to flash 5959 tephra v3 on a 14 MR and it's bricking every time. Flash stock rom and no issue. Flashed 2010 MR tephra v1 no issue. Flashed 2014 5959 tephra v3 with no changes or with changes to the rom and it bricks every time. Tried it 6 times.

I have kind of the same problem... ecuflash said:the image you are trying to flash contains changes to protected areas! exiting. I run the file which comes from tephra (mitsuscan no memory protection). The car doesnt starts just the fan run. I can flash the stock ROM and the car runs again. Anybody find a solution?
