Changing Dash Display Logo/Splash Screen?
I was watching a vid about the Evo X Final Edition, and I noticed that when the car starts, the dash display shows: "Lancer Evolution... Final Edition". It caught my eye because I know my car just says "Mitsubishi Motors". That got me thinking: could it be possible to flash the ECU to change what image/bitmap/animation shows up on the display?
I'm not super fluent in how the car's electronics function, or if the ECU has anything to do with the dash display AT ALL. Knowing what I do, it seems more likely that there's another unit that would control how/what shows up on the display, separate from the ECU. STILL, it would have to have some sort of memory displaying what shows up. If they were able to change it in the Final Edition from the factory, it seems to me there would be a decent chance that changing it wouldn't be next to impossible?
Does anyone know anything about what goodies may or may not be stored in the car's ECU? Or anyone who knows about how the dash display module works?
EDIT: to clarify, I'm talking about the little LCD display between the tach and speedometer, not the optional infotainment system.

8100C513 for Canada cars (Speedometer scale - km's primary/miles secondary)
8100C514 for USA Cars (Speedometer scale - miles primary/km's secondary)
And YES, this panels holds own firmware, different from other panels.
