Exclamation EVO X Intake Dyno Testing Part 1

We finished the prototype components for the EVO X intake system. This includes the suction pipe to the turbo and short ram intake kit with heat shield that connects to the factory air scoop.

The car did really well actually with the complete intake kit and suction pipe. The car by nature from the factory ran quite rich. With the addition of the intake components, it leaned the car out to a safe tunable AFR which gave it a ton of power. The boost was consistant but heavily drops off. We definitely need to get a boost controller and/or have some ECU tuning done. We suspect that with the intake and a good turbo back exhaust (coming soon) the car will pick up about 40HP easily.

Final testing will be done on the intake kit which will be sold as just the short ram or just the suction pipe. You will be able to get it at a combination as well. We hope to start production by Monday and have product shippable within 2 weeks.

Here is the dyno sheet from the run. Stay tuned!

Wow! 40 hp with an exhaust and intake, sounds good to me so far. Looks to me all the worries, that most people had on here about the response to mods, seems to be responding well, which is what I have been saying all along. But this is just the begining, we will really the big picture once the car has both the intake and exhaust, mbc, and a tune, then we will be able to see what this car is really like.

I wonder what would happen if you just unbolt the muffler.

Your talking about gaining 16 lbs of torque and 29 WHP from an intake alone?

Nick,

It is only because it leaned the car out. There is no funny business in this just the fact that it leaned the car out and made the car run way more effcient. It is not the intake only that made this power.

You know what, I should retract my statement. Reason being that I have seen stranger things.
So when we receive our car in 2 weeks I think we will try this out for ourselves. If it in fact it follows this scenario I will publicly apologize for my ignorance and utter disbelief.
You guys are still doing a good job with the R&D, keep up the good work.

Did you bother to look at the Dyno Graph?

I knew it was a giant gain from an intake. I thought the same thing when we first dyno'd it. Once you get yours Nick you will see that cars are really rich from the factory. The intake really leaned it out to an almost perfect AFR. I think just from it leaning out it gained the power.
