Yeah, the rapid prototype machines use this weird powder. Its awesome stuff though. Man, I wish I had one. I could make so many cool things. Oh wait, let me rephrase that, so many cool POINTLESS things.

 

Haha same here, I forgot the name of the powder but the parts are extreme fragile when they come out of the machine, they will easily crumble with any pressure so some sort of resin is your friend.

 

All depends on the process. SLS stuff is really sturdy. Heck, they have rapid prototype machines that can make metal parts from metal powder now.

 

This is only directed at the engineer nerds - That's not an SLS machine. It's a ZCorp 3D printer, "Polyjet" is typically the term used. It's not SLA, SLS, or FDM.

It's cool that Cobb is jumping on the X development early.
