I no understando this post o. I already figured that part out due to where the X's turbo is. Maybe it'll be easier with a lift.

rofl, not to mention the X has a lot more room in the back than a VIII or IX does. AGP said its a breeze to work on.

Easy guys! Just showing that we're not going to be able to stand in front of the car and casually yank the manifold and turbo out anymore, more crawling around will be involved! I posted this after doing my IM swap, which everyone knows is such a PITA it makes your head spin!

He makes a fair point. How many people have a lift in their garage? I'm going out a limb to guess under 1% of EvoM guys (if that). How many people have the means to get their car off the ground more than 2 feet to give you enough clearance to perform work on the turbo? Again, not many since most jacks and stands don't provide that type of clearance (if any do).

So, the in-the-garage install of a new turbo would seem to be more complicated than an VIII/IX. DIY guys simply aren't going to like to to an install this way. Nothing wrong with that opinion. Why talk down to the guy? Taking it to a shop for a DIY guy isn't an option. But, maybe the new customer the X is attracting are happy to take the car to a shop to have work done?

Why not? It has been done like that with 1.8T transverse engines for ten years.

better weight distrobution vs. ease of 1 time turbo install (for most people).

I'll go for the better weight distrobution. If I can do turbo swap on a cramped srt-4 I can do one on a X. (without a lift)

scheides, I know what you're talking about with the IM. Ask me how I know, hehe. That's an awesome idea about using a ramp to stand on. I did all my work without one and my legs bent into positions I had no idea they could go.
