i gotta be honest, ams i think you guys do awesome work, but Buschur's either his vid is presented better or something because his just sounds so much meaner

 

I was stuck between 2 and 3.. to me on my sorry *** laptop 2 sounded throatier.. but if 3 is throatier in RL then i'm all for 3!

 

I voted clip 2. I think 2 has a nicer bass tone and deeper "growl", does this exhaust include a cat? What do they sound like without the cat? (honestly most people will do this (on the track only of course)

 

if it's between 2 & 3. Just make the one the makes the most power, or do all of them have the same gains?

 

We took an idle video yesterday too, I will try and get that up. at idle and just blipping the throttle its sounds MEAN honestly more like a dual exhaust V motor. I will get that up later today.

just different configurations to get a different exhaust tone. Performance wise they are all the same.

Ok guys, Someone here said it didn't sound mean enough. Number one looked like it wasnt getting any love so I dug up some footage of number one on the dyno. I think this might change some minds

I think the fact that #1 was filmed at a different distance/angle threw off the sound comparison.

 

yeah... from this footage 1 sounds best... do you have footage similar footage of 2-3? Is it me or does this car sound very close to an STI.... which is a good thing.. heh

 

The camera didn't seem to pick up the sound as well as I thought.

Version 2 and 3 sound pretty good and accurate in the video, thats about how they sound being next to thecar. For some reason version one sounded very tame and that is not the case at all.

The angle didnt change much of the exhaust tone. I think that in the original video the camera just couldn't pick up the tone that well. Here you can clearly see the difference.

Version 1 is actually my personal favorite.

 

Sorry, after viewing that new video, #1 sounds more hollow, more gurgly, and WAYYYYY TOOOOOOOOO Much like an SRT-4. D@mn I hate those cars. They sound like they have NO muscle, No nuttts!!!! Off boost and general cruising sounds are just as important to me as on boost WOT sounds. Gotta be a well rounded system. Part of the reason I never digged the AMS Evo IX turbo back. I run some of your parts but the exhaust was not for me.

 

Thank you for the input. Like I said the version 1 is by far the loudest or the three. and 2 seems to be the closest to a standard EVO exhaust tone.

Again we want to hear all feedback. I know that exhuast tones are really in the end up the individual but in the end we want to get the most well rounded system.

in person Version 1 sounds much more like a subaru than an SRT4 I think

Thats cool. I actually used my headphones THIS time and played the videos like 5 times each today. Last night without my headphones, I played them 15+ times. I still feel 2 is the smoothest and most natural. 3 is definately on par and probably a better pick for those who like it a little louder. 1 would be OK if it didnt sound so hollow off-boost. I reserved my criticism from the Buschur thread because I wont ever use his parts. His exhaust sounds ranks 4th to all of yours.

Edit** After furthur review, #1 is 4th behind Buschurs exhaust. Just re-listened to them both with headphones. It could be the fact that his was on pavement and yours was on the dyno.
